Clean As A Gem - House Cleaning Newcastle Upon Tyne, One-off Oven & Deep Cleans

Can’t comment on the quality of cleaning as Gemma never turns up. I have arranged three times for her to attend. Twice she just didn’t arrive and ghosted for a few days, ignoring calls and texts and once I got a text 10 minutes before the appointment saying something had come up. Do not waste your time, they are completely unable to be reliable.

We booked a cleaner in advance of our landlord inspection. First our appointment time was rescheduled and then an hour before the company cancelled on us due to the cleaners illness which is understandable but there was no offer to send someone else. Extremely unprofessional and unreliable. Avoid at all costs.

After reading all the nice reviews we decided to book in Clean as Gem for a Deep Clean as we just moved into our new home. The girls were nice but unfortunately didn't actually do a deep clean. The hob and extractor fan were full of grease - they just told me I can clean it myself, just soak them in hot water - which wouldn't be a problem have I not paid £17 per hour per person to do it for me. They also didn't dust the lights and chandeliers as they 'don't have insurance'. There were additional things e.g. drying rack, compartments in the freezer, etc that weren't cleaned. They did a general clean which would have been fine if I didn't have to pay nearly £150 for the full service. Having spoken to the manager, I was promised a part refund which I never actually received even after I followed up. A bit disappointed with how the situation was handled and I would not go with this company again for a deap clean. I beleive there are better choices out there for a much more reasonable price.
